The hyundai kona electric 2023 is Hyundai’s most capable and advanced all-electric SUV. Its battery powers a permanent-magnet synchronous motor that generates 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. The motor drives the front wheels through a single-speed transmission. In Edmunds testing, we’ve seen the Kona Electric easily surpass its own range estimates.
The battery pack in the 2023 Kona Electric allows it to travel up to 258 miles on a charge. That’s more than the range of many other small EVs. And you can recharge it from a 110-volt household outlet or a 240-volt DC fast charger, either at home or at a public charging station.

Besides the impressive electric range, the 2023 Kona Electric offers lots of other next-level features. For example, its Dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays offer gorgeous graphics and an intuitive interface. Plus, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard. And it’s got a unique feature called the i-Pedal, which lets you accelerate, decelerate and come to a stop with just one pedal.
Several safety features are also standard. They include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. A parking-assist feature can even automatically pull into or out of a spot for you. Another convenient feature is Hyundai Pay, which lets you use the KONA Electric to pay for things like food and gas. You just add your credit card info and then use your smartphone to make payments. It’s a great way to ease range anxiety when you’re driving an all-electric vehicle.
